The presence of artwork in the form of mural collaboration that contains meaning about Kalijodo’s change from the old to the new. The purpose of this research is to earn a picture and description about the artwork’s conception and public space as a whole in the process of visual design based on environmental change. This is a qualitative research using Feldman’s art critique approach. Done with elaborating data and field observation. In the process, this research considers the connections that is apparent and inherent within the artwork, the compatibility of the aesthetic value presented with the area and the public respond and acceptance. From the research’s outcome one could conclude that the artwork in Kalijodo’s Child Friendly Integrated Public Space has given an effect and change to the visualization of an area that is felt by the visitors or the public. The presence of the muralat Kalijodo’s Child Friendly Integrated Public Space has strengthen the conception of environmental change within a city’s open public space. Even though the Mural did not communicate the history of Kalijodo as well as the brief has initially give, the mural has given the public a vessel for self-expression and interaction. text |
