Summary: | Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road has been planned to developed by West Java Provincial Government to overcome the congestion issues in Gasibu Area, Bandung. But, the development that would be implemented in the form of overpass to continue the concept of ‘fly over’ which has already been applied for Jl. Pasupati can’t be done because of the limitation; Gedung Sate was built in an imaginary axis with Gunung Tangkubanparahu so there must be no interference. Underpass concept was come up as a solution to keep the imaginary axis from Gedung Sate to the north way and to separate local traffic as well as the continuous traffic. The context of Gasibu Area which have been the center of community activities and the various problems of this area should be noticed. The formulation of the problem is there is no design concept for the underpass development area which considering to solve the surrounding problems. The purpose of this study is to make the design concept of Gasibu Area that will be passed by Bandung Intra Urban Toll Road corridor’s plan which considering to solve the surrounding problems through the formulation of design normative principle, identification of potential and problems, formulation of design principle and concept, and make the illustrative design plan. The result shows that Gasibu Area’s design can reduce some problems such as traffic, the problem of public transportation, pedestrian, on street parking, and people’s activity that have potential to cause a problem in Gasibu Area’s public space. |
