Summary:Divertion tunnel is important thing in civil dam construction. The divertion tunnel will be used to divert the main river during construction of Dam body. Dimension of divertion tunnel is usually determined based on the amount of water flow that will be diverted. The divertion tunnel in Bener Dam is defined as 7 meters in final diameter and 940 meters in length. In order to get the final diameter, the tunnel is excavated with a diameter of 9 meters. The lithology that dominates in the divertion tunnel location is 2 types of lithology, which are Breccia and Andesite. Based on rock mass classification the RMR value for Breccia lithology = 58 and for Andesite = 37, or Q Value for Breccia lithology = 3.41 and andesite = 0.13. There results are then used for determining rock mass strength and support system. Based on the analysis using numerical modeling which consider numerical the strength of the rock mass and suggestion of support system from rock mass classification, it is prove that are divertion tunnel requires support to maintain its strength. The results of the analysis which considering the support system recommended by RMR and the Q-System shows that support system are enough to stabilize the tunnel, eventhough the results of the system Q's fos values are relatively smaller than the RMR.
