Description
Summary:As one of developing countries, indonesia such as developing countries were problems more complex than developed countries, from high population growth, social gap, a lack of facilities and infrastructure to support the development itself. Congestion often occurs in big cities, especially those who do not have good or adequate public transportation or unbalanced road needs with population density (transportation). The number of vehicle ownership continues to increase due to an increase in people's purchasing power. The main driver for owning private vehicles, especially motorbikes, is ease of accessibility, especially on congested roads, and the lack of public transportation. The rapid development of industrial estates in Kabupaten Bandung Barat (Batujajar, Padalarang, Ngamprah, And Cililin), is expected to have an effect on increasing the number of private vehicle ownership, where this will affect the capacity of the road network and have an impact on the problems in developing the city transportation system (BPS Bandung Barat District, 2015). The number of vehicles owned by households is one of the determinants of the number of modes used in travel. Based on these problems the purpose of this study is to find out the factors that influence the transition society (agriculture - industry) towards private vehicle ownership. The method used in this study is the method of movement distribution and multiple regression. The results of the analysis show the purpose of travel, sim ownership, travel time, and BMM costs to be factors that influence the ownership of private vehicles. Therefore it is necessary to increase or optimize public vehicles for the community.
