THE EFFECT OF PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SERVICE AS FEEDER ON TRANSFER ACCESS OF COMMUTER USING TRAIN IN SOLO-YOGYA TRIP

The interaction between Yogyakarta and Semarang occurs due to tourism and working activity which cause daily movement in Solo-Yogya. The using of train as modes of commuter has to be supported by integration of feeder. Prameks train that serve travel between Solo and Yogya is one of modes relied by daily commuters. The problems of feeder that affect on mode choice for commuters using train as main mode for commuting are lack of integration between feeder and train as main modes, lack of service, and unavailability of feeder in several area. Chi square test showed that the availability of feeder are affected on mode choice for commuting, meanwhile variables of public transportation service that affected on commuters preference using train based on binominal logistic regresion analysis showed that the most affected factors on mode choice is in vehicle time. The probability of mode shift using train are 71% means that the possibility of commuters using train is big enough if the service component of feeder are improved. Strategic for improving service of feeder to push modes shift using train by provide public transportation as feeder on the blank spot that hasn’t served by feeder yet and improvement on time factor
