Description
Summary:The remaking of hot box system on motorcycle for delivery service and its testing have been completely done. The new hot box which is the enhancement of former hot box made by Aldri and Andreas [3] was redesigned by Kemas Erwin. There were several aspects that was developed in the new system namely the widening of condenser surface area, the making of flexible box base, and the placement of condenser-evaporator connecting pipe inside the motorcycle body in order to tidy up the appearance of the whole system. In the testing, this system was applicated directly to the ordinary delivery box from a pizza restaurant in Bandung. The stationer testing showed that the air temperature inside the box climbed up to 60 OC only in 5 minutes while the former hot box took around 10-15 minutes. Besides that, the air inside the new hot box was uniformly heated. In the real condition based testing during 15 minutes of delivery, the temperature of food (in this case was pizza) inside the box remained hot at 64 OC when it came to the customer. But, in the same period, the temperature of pizza dropped to 46 OC while it was delivered using the ordinary box from a pizza restaurant. The testing was also held in the longer period (30 minutes of delivery) and it showed a satisfying result that the pizza temperature remained constant at 64 OC.
