The aircraft component which is investigated is wing spar structure because the wing was broken during this accident. Previously, the aircraft wing has hit by a hangar wooden pool during a thunderstorm. The wing spar was buckled on its spar shear-web and its stiffeners. Therefore, the web spar which is buckled and failed in this accident was brought to the laboratory for a further investigation. The objective of this final project is to reveal the failure mode at wing spar. The research methods that used is compare failure form it with failure form if it experienced different loading conditions. The loading conditions is crushing, landing, crash, and dropped. After comparing its failure mode, it can be concluded that the failure mode of the wing spar structure. The wing spar structure undergo a 45° static fracture at upper and lower spar cap, and shear web due to tensile load which caused by a bending during the wing crash the tree and finally drop in the palm-tree plantation. text |
