Description
Summary:Nowadays, biosensors have been widely developed in many applications such as sensing biomolecule in biology and medicine field. Porphyrins are one of the vital biomolecules in the human body. Porphyrins form a complex compound with metal ions. Porphyrin that bonds with the iron atom is called the heme group. Iron deficiency anemia is a type of anemia that is caused by the lack of iron concentration for hemoglobin synthesis. Giant Magnetoresistance (GMR) sensors have shown great potential as a sensing element for biomolecule detection. Sensing of iron porphyrin sample by various concentration such as 15????????; 10????????; 5????????; 1????????; 0,8????????; 0,6????????; 0,4????????; 0,2????????; and 0,05???????? were done. The mechanism of this work was developed by using a simulator system. The iron porphyrin sample is flowed through the magnetizer, 1Tesla, to magnetize the sample and then detected by the GMR sensor as an output signal. The output signal of the GMR sensor is very low so that sensor output was gained and filtered using the signal conditioning circuit. This work has successfully developed a sensing system of iron porphyrin sample with a concentration of 0,05???????? until 15???????? . The output voltage of the system (V) and iron porphyrin sample concentration (????????) possess a linear relation. At gain of 381 times, the Root Mean Square Voltage (Vrms) is around 0,1455V; 0,1296V; 0,1155V; 0,1023V; 0,0994V; 0,0956V; 0,0950V; 0,0928V; and 0,0915V for 15????????; 10????????; 5????????; 1????????; 0,8????????; 0,6????????; 0,4????????; 0,2????????; and 0,05????????; respectively. The simulator possess sensitivity of 0,0996mV/???????? for iron porphyrin concentration ? 1???????? while the sensitivity of 0,0912mV/???????? for iron porphyrin concentration < 1????????. It is well known, that iron deficiency anemia owns serum iron concentration <5????g/dl or <0,1365????????. So that, this system possesses high potential to be developed for level iron deficiency anemia detection with a measurement range of iron porphyrin concentration from 0,05???????? – 0,8????????.
