Description
Summary:Machine tools have an important role in the manufacturing industry as an equipment in production process. Electrical energy consumption in machine tools has a significant contribution in production cost. Energy management in manufacturing industry is necessary to optimize the usage of electrical energy. To develop electrical energy management, electrical energy consumption data of machines are required. In general manufacturing industry, machine tools are operated by operators. Operators who operate the machine tools must be registered on the system so that it can be traced if necessary. Monitoring electrical energy consumption on machine tools needed as data to get the value of electrical energy consumption on the machine tools for developing energy management system in manufacturing industry. This thesis has designed a system that can monitor electrical energy consumption used by operator of machine tool. Electrical energy calculated from values of electrical current, active duration, and voltage of the machine tool. The device that is used by the system is microcontroller, computers, RFID reader, power modules, and current sensor. The resulting data from device will be stored on a database.
