Summary: | Weather measurement system help humans to understand natural phenomena and adapt to the
environment. As technology develops, weather measurement tools and methods are growing rapidly.
New sensors and methods continue to grow for the better in terms of ease of use, accuracy, and cost
efficiency. But on the other hand, the energy consumption is not always better than conventional
methods. The current technological developments also allow data collection using Automated Weather
Station (AWS) such as the use of radio frequency technology and the internet. The internet allows
access to real-time data of weather measurements in the world. Therefore, this study will develop
weather station system that includes temperature and humidity sensor, wind speed sensor with
anemometer cup, wind direction sensor with wind vane, and rainfall sensor with tipping-bucket rain
gauge. This weather station will be connected via LoRa radio waves with base stations connected to the
internet. Weather station system is not directly connected to the internet because in general weather
stations are placed in the field which is difficult to get internet access. Base station can be placed in an
easy place to get internet access. In this study can be obtained weather measurement data such as
temperature, humidity, wind speed, wind direction, and rainfall. This paper summarizes the results of
accurate, precise, and real-time weather station system. |
