Jakarta is a place where the different cultures meet, both foreign cultures and ethnic cultures that exist in Indonesia. Betawi culture is a local culture of Jakarta, growing fainter amid the diversity of cultures. Betawi culture conditions are getting disappeared in line with the quality of natural environmental that getting bad. This one can be seen from the number of green open space (RTH) in Jakarta at 9.98% in 2015 (Gardens and Cemetery Department of DKI Local Goverment). The government’s efforts to preserve Betawi culture has manifested in Betawi Cultural Village in Setu Babakan located in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta. This village has the potential such as lake and several cultural facilities that have been provided by the government such as museum and performing arts area. One of the potential that has not been developed in this area is green open space. Betawi culture can be a concept developed in one area of green open space in Setu Babakan. The concept of green open space is applied by considering the function of green open space in the past, namely as orchard and open space to play. The result of this design is expected to be an alternative recreation for people in the neighborhood around the city of South Jakarta. This is consistent with the government's plan to establish Betawi Cultural Village of Setu Babakan areas as a natural tourism destination.
