Voltammetry is one of analytical method that can be used to determine cadmium in low concentration. Voltammetry method has simple analytical procedure, short analysis time and also high sensitivity and selectivity. In this study, voltammetry method for cadmium determination was developed using carbon paste electrode modified with poly(3- aminophenol) and lignosulphonate. The optimum condition for deposition step was obtained at deposition time of 90 seconds and deposition potential of -1.1 V in acetate buffer pH 4.5 as supporting electrolyte. Repeat measurement (n=20) of cadmium peak current with the modified electrode gave %RSD of 3.82% and reproducibility of 5 electrodes resulted in %RSD of 2.38%. Calibration curve gave good linearity in the concentration range 0.1 – 100 µM with limit of detection of 0,0615 µM. Cadmium determination of spiked water samples resulted in percent recovery between 91.0 – 113.5% showing a good accuracy of the method. text
