Description
Summary:Along with the times, the need for medical devices continues to increase. One of these medical devices is a syringe. To fulfill the needs of syringe, a tool is needed to produce syringes quickly and in a mass production. One of the tools that can be used to overcome these problems is jig and fixture. Jig and fixture is attached to the grinding machine so that it can simplify and speed up the grinding process. However, several errors were found so that the jig and fixture could not be used. This research begins with identifying errors in jigs and fixture and then redesigning the components with Solidworks. After redesigning, the components are manufactured and installed on a grinding machine. After that, the needle grinding process can be done. The results of the study showed that the construction of jigs and fixture mechanisms of motor movement, and electrical components were successfully repaired. In addition, the sharpened needle also meets the desired geometry specifications. However, the needle grinding process can only be done with one needle so that development needs to be done in order to sharpen many needles that match the geometry specifications in a single process.
