Gold mineral mining in this area has been going on since 2005 until now. At this time, the results of natural resources are only of minimal value to the local community. This happens because of a lack of human resources in the fields of energy and mineral resources. The purpose of this study is to find out the process of gold mineralization caused by tectonic arrangements that occur in the Central Sulawesi region, as well as the physical principles that apply in the process of deposition of gold minerals derived from magma by reviewing the thermodynamic aspects. This research was carried out by conducting field studies and reviewing related literature. Based on the preliminary studies conducted, it was found that the deposition process of gold minerals that occurred in the Poboya area of Central Sulawesi began with tectonic activity in the form of West-directed subduction between the Banda Sea oceanic plate and the late Cretaceous continental plate resulting in a process of magmatism. This magmatism process results in the presence of epithermal deposits from hydrothermal solutions. Hydrothermalsolutions containing gold minerals are deposited in quartz veins in and around a fracture zone located not far from the center of the magma, the Palu Koro fault. This magmatism process can be described by using the principles of Archimedes and the Law of thermodynamics. While the composition of each mineral from the deposited magma can be calculated using the equation of composition percentage in Eutectic diagram. text |
