Summary: | Water is one of the natural resources that has an important role to supporting people's lives. Water potential in Lombok Island is strongly influenced by rainfall and most of it used as a source for various need such as drinking water, irrigation, and energy. The topographic conditions of the area indicate that the northern part of Lombok Island consists of mountains with an altitude between 0 - 3,726 m, in the middle part is a fertile lowland in the form of rice fields, and in the southern part is highland and dry area. To ensure the availability of water resources for community the government has made various efforts, including the provision of facilities and infrastructure so that the management of water resources can be maximized. Water resources management activities should be common knowledge for the community, especially students as part of the application in science. Physics as one part of science has a very close relationship in natural resources management. There are many physics concepts that are used as a basis for water management in an area, so that the community's needs for water can be fulfilled. Therefore we need a contextual learning media that can help students to understand the basic concepts of an area's water management process, so that they can participate in maintaining the water balance or the availability. |
