Summary: | Dye-Sensitizer Solar Cell (DSSS)-based Titanium Oxide (Ti02) nanocrystals were fabricated utilizing anthocyanins as dye which are extracted from purple sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas L.) as natural dye-sensitizer. Solar cell was formed with sandwich model, which two electrodes sandwiching r-lhredox electrolyte solution. Working electrode (photoanode) as TCO (transparent conducting oxide ) deposited Ti02 layer by screen-printing method and sensitized with anthocyanin dye as electron donor in this solar cell. The counter electrode as preparate glass coated carbon synthesis and was deposited in polyaniline-Camphoursulfonic Acid (PANI CSA):graphit (3:1) mixture. Anthocyanin as safety natural dye in solar cell has optimum condition to reach maximum perform. Isolation of anthocyanin compound involved several steps, including extraction at room temperature (macerated) using ethanol-HCl 0.01%, then partition used ethyl-acetate to separate flavone compound, then extract was fractionated by using vacuum liquid chromatography method with polyamide CC-6 (02395-250G, 50-160 11m) as stationary phase, aquadest and ethanol as mobile phase. Four compounds of anthocyanin had been identified successfully based on Rfvalue of Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) using Kiesel gel 60 F2s4 silica plate with eluents are n-Butanol: Acetic Acid : Water (BAW) (4:2:1) and Acetic Acid: HCl : Water (AHW) (1:1:2) respectively. Cyanidin 3- glucopyranoside compound has Rfvalue 0.26 ofBAW and 0.30 of AHW eluents. Cyanidin 3-rhamnoside compound has Rf value 0.63 of BAW and 0.50 of AHW eluents. Malvinidine 3-glucoside compounds has Rf value 0.49 of BAW eluents. Delphinidin 3-rhamnoside of compound has Rf value 0.39 of BAW and 0.37 of AHW eluents. UV- Vis spectrum shows that the maximum absorbance of cyanidin
3-glucopyranoside compound, cyanidin 3-rhamnoside compound, malvinidin 3- glucoside compound, delphinidin 3-rhamnoside compound are 521, 529, 510, and
539.5 nm respectively. The current-voltage (I-V) curve of the solar cell was measured by using the suit of solar simolator (ORIEL S013A 100 mW/cm2) and
(Keithley 240) show that parameters of open-circuit voltage (Voc) 0,538 Volt,
short-circuit photocurrent (Jsc) 0,421 mAcm•2, Fill Factor (FF) 43,8% with light to-electricity conversion efficiency (TJ) is 0,11% for cyanidin 3-rhaminoside of anthocyanin compound at 1,97 mM eyE and the optimum condition at pH 4 that was soaked during 24 hours under dark room condition.
