In order to increase its inhibition, PASP copolymerization with glycine amino acid was carried out in this study. Poly (aspartate-co-glycine) was synthesized from polysucinimide (PSD which was copolymerized with glycine by reflux for 2 hours at 70 °C. PST and PASP-glycine were characterized using FTTR and 1H-NMR. The measurement ofPASP glycine corrosion inhibition power for carbon steel in 1% NaCI medium was carried out using the Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (ETS) method, polarization (Tafel), and weight loss method. While the efficiency of scale inhibition was determined using complexometric titration method to indicate the dissolved calcium ion concentration. The inhibition efficiency of 125 ppm PASP-glycine against carbon steel in 1% NaCl medium tested by the EIS method, Tafel, and weight loss was 53.1%; 63%; and 47.4%. PASP-glycine testing as a slag inhibitor showed maximum efficiency of86.4% at a concentration of75 ppm. Tests have been conducted showing that poly (aspartate-co-glycine) can be used as a corrosion inhibitor and scale inhibitor. text |
