總結:Chromium coating using hexavalent chromium has been banned in several countries, such as in the European Union, because hexavalant chromium is classified as group A carcinogen. Therefore, some researchers began to develop alternative methods of using trivalent chromium which safer and environmentally friendly. In this study, coating was done using chromium chloride as a source of Cr3+ and formic acid as a complexing agent. The experimental results showed an increase the hardness of the layers along with the increase in current density of 911, 927, and 929 HV0.3 at current densities of 20. 25 and 30 A /dm2. While increasing concentration of chromium chloride showed the opposite result, a decrease in hardness, 929, 696, and 585 HV0.3 at concentrations of 100, 150 and 200 g / L. XRD characterization shows that increasing current density reduced the degree of crystallinity of the layer from 43.,1% at 20/dm2 to 38% at 30 A/dm2. Further observations needed to get a better understanding.
