This plant cnn gro'' t o reach -+5 111 . and is l'amou. lt)r irs cli st incti\c taste. Ph;.todlc micall;.. 'Kec hapi• is a producer o f natural compounds c.kri'eel from t ritc1p ncs and Iimonoid. Some of these compounds ha \'1;: been exnminccl for their biological propert ies. \\'hich include nnt i-microbial. nnti- feednnt. anti inllnmmntorics nnd ant i-cnncer. Based on this background. the research aimed to isolnte and det rmine the truc tureor the limonoid dcri\ati\e compounds from t he lcOH extract of •K echapi• roots. Isolation of secondary metabolites \\'ere carried out through e•,ernl stages. including extrnction. fract ionation. and puriricnt ion. using ,•arious chrommogrnphic techniques. n<llnely,•ncuum liquid chromat ography (K.CV) and radinl chromntog:raphy ( KR). Three pure COlllj)L)Lil1ds ha\ c been ucccss fully isolmcd ill1cl the st ructures or these compounds \\'t re cldenninecl based 011 U\'-\'is. JR. NMR spectral dnta nncl opticnl rotation. The three compounds \\'ere 7 -dcacety lgedunin ( 1). geclunin ( 2 ). and nndirobin ( 3). PhytL'C hcmicnl research on the root part of'K.cclwpi' is the first t ime. Thus. t he linding: of t he three compounds complement s the • Kechapi• ph:t ochemicals ''hich are dominnted pre\ iously by t he Iem es. bnrk and ''ood. ns m ll ns the fruit peels and seeds.
