One of many plants that have the potential to contain active compounds is 'Kecapi' (Sandoricum koetjape Merr., Meliaceae). Although there have been reports about this plant but not one on Indonesian sample. ln this experiment, isolation and characterization of secondary metabolites from S. koetjape seed extract from Pandeglang, Banten were carried out. Isolation of secondary metabolites from S. koetjape seed extract includes several stages, involving extraction, fractionation, and purification using various chromatographic methods. The molecular structures of the isolated compounds are determined by spectroscopy (lR, l 0-NMR and 20-NMR). Three pure compounds have been isolated and identified as limonoid derivatives, andirobin-type limonoid (1-2) and 3- cipadonoid epimer C (3). Compounds 2-3 are limonoid derivatives which are being isolated for the first time. In conclusion, two new compounds from S. koetjape seed extract have been succesfully isolated in this experiment. text |
