Description
Summary:Situ Ciburuy is an ecotourism area located on Jalan Raya Padalarang, Ciburuy, West Bandung Regency. This tourist area is a historical heritage of Prabu Siliwangi and the Dutch colonial era. Ciburuy Situ which functions as irrigation is also known as a tourist destination. It’s strategic place, located next to the highway makes this area easy to recognize and easily reach. However, over time this region is not as busy as it once was. The environment and public facilities there are poorly maintained, so the area seems slum. This region needs revitalization, in order to invite more visitors to come, and improve the environment to return to life. With the support of the West Bandung Regency Government in collaboration with PT. Akurasi Kuat Mega as a manager, in this area a mosque will be built as one of the catalysts of regional development, as landmarks and spiritual tourism facilities in the area. In order for the building to become a landmark, easily recognizable, and become an attraction for visitors, the building was built on an island located in the middle of Ciburuy Situ with an area of 10,000 m². The design of the mosque building will be made interesting and unusual from mosques in general. The building which is located in the middle of this tourist area has a friendly concept for visitors, so as to reduce the sense of inclusiveness for certain communities, the building does not use Islamic building symbols such as domes and towers. Although it was built without these characteristics, the building will still be seen and become a landmark of the Ciburuy Situ area. Of course the design still pays attention to the applicable Islamic Shari'a. In order for the building to attract the attention of visitors and symbolize the locality of the area, the shape of the main building was inspired by one of the legends of Situ Ciburuy, the whirlpool. The resulting shape is a winding shape like a whirlpool. There is a main building as the main prayer room which can be interpreted as the core of the whirlpool, and supporting buildings as ripples from the whirlpool. The shape of the building can also be interpreted that the prayers gather in the core of the building and are channeled above the sky. The mosque building was made as if floating on the north of the island, so as to provide a new atmosphere in worship. Laying buildings that make the mosque building free from disruption of recreational activities or other disturbing activities. In order to respond to the location of buildings that are difficult to reach, most of the building materials use components that are easy to distribute, and easily in the construction process. Such as using precast concrete for walls and floor plates, and using fabricated components first.
