Summary: | Convective cloud growth activity has an influence on the phenomenon of turbulence which causes disruption, damage, reduced fuel on flight. But the observation of upper air is still not much done and the data produced still needs to be developed.
This study uses the data obtained from flightradar24, which is the provider of flight track record data using Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B), which exists in almost all the world. The data available in it is the location of the data recording point, height, speed, and direction of the plane. Using the available data, the phenomenon of turbulence is then identified which is then connected with the results of the satellite image plot to show that the phenomenon of turbulence that is influenced by convective clouds does occur.
At the time of the observed turbulence, it was observed that at the location of the turbulence, there was also a convective phenomenon that can be indiced as Convectively Induced Turbulence (CIT), but a number of observed turbulence events were not accompanied by convective clouds which were categorized as Clear Air Turbulence (CAT). |
