Description
Summary:Government recently have a concerned issues related to the energy security, environment and trade balance: increasing oil import, CO2 emission reduction based on COP21 at Paris, and deficit trade balance. One of the solution is to reduce oil consumption, so that it have an impact on reducing oil import, reducing CO2 emission as well as improving trade balance. In automotive sector, Government have already established the roadmap of alternative fuel: bio-diesel B30 (2020), bio-gasohol E20 (2025), and CNG. Governmrnt also have already developed LCEV program that will trigger and motivate maker to develop and produce vehicle locally that more economical of fuel consumption. For this reason, Government has already declared the target of electrified vehicle market share 20% by year 2025. The objective of LCEV program is for harmonization of vehicle luxury tax based on level of exhaust CO2 emission (gram/km). The Vehicle that have lower CO2 emission will have lower vehicle luxury tax. Industry must support LCEV program in order to solve above primary concerned issues. Automotive makers should support LCEV program by developing an electrified vehicle in the furure. It is very important to consider the consumser acceptance level, whether Government incentive is sufficient to cover the additional cost due to new technology adoption. Therefore, automotive makers need to analyse carefully and set up an appropriate action plan to be able to set up vehicle price that meet with the acceptance of customers in order to support government target of electrified vehcile 20% by 2025.
