Description
Summary:Sandoricum koetjape Men. , a species of Mel iaceae, has some potensi a l seconda ry metabol i tes. Ph ytochemical studies of leaves , seeds, fru i t hulls, stem barks, and ba rks of S. koetjape showed the presence of terpenoids, dominated by pentacyc li c triterpenoids a n d limonoids. Some of these com pou nds have been shown to be anti -infl ammatory, antifeeda nt, and cancer chemopreventive agents. Hitherto, phytochemical study of the bark still lim ited. ln thi s study, we have bee n iso lated two n ew triterpenoids, KK 2 a nd KK7, and five known compounds from l i monoids ( K.K4. KK5), tritcrpenoids (K.K3, KK6). and sesq u iterpenoid (KK I ) from MeOH extract of S. koetjape bark from Pandegl a ng, Banten. Secondary metabolites iso lation was performed by vanous c hromatography methods, such as vacu um li q ui d chroma tography, col um chromatography. and radi al ch romatography. The structu re elucidation of isolated compounds based on I D- ( 1H-NMR (500 MHz); 13C-NMR ( 1 25 MHz)), DEPT- 1 35, TOCSY-1 D. and 20-NM R spec ta ( H SQC, HMBC, COSY , dan ROESY). Eva l uation of a nti bacterial properties showed K.K 7 i n hi bits the grov;t h of E. Faecalis, S. saprophyticus. S. enterica and C. freundii. In conclusi on. S knetjape bark are potential source of various trirerpe noids skeletons.
