Indeed, the government has to regulate policies and provide services to the community, particularly in the marine sector, coastal areas, and small islands. However, many problems still occur. Laws that are the guidelines in organizing government is considered incomplete, and there is still much confusion. One reason is the lack of supporting information, such as geospatial information. In fact, from complete information, the government can determine various policies, including governance service policies to the public. Besides, community activities in the Indonesian sea area are increasing, especially with the launch of Indonesia's marine development. Therefore, it is necessary to manage geospatial information infrastructure, especially in the marine sector, coastal areas, and small islands, effectively, integrated and sustainably, to overcome various conflicts and exploitation that are not wise. By using a descriptive analytical methodology, the author will describe it thoroughly by analyzing various problems in the laws and regulations that have not been optimized in its application. From a variety of supporting aspects, geodesy and geomatics is one of the sciences that has a role in the marine sector, coastal areas, and small islands. Through marine cadastre, the scientific role of geodesy and geomatics is as a provider and manager of geospatial information infrastructure applied in the management of National Spatial Data Infrastructure (IDSN). With the existence of IDSN, marine management, coastal areas, and small islands can be carried out in an integrated and sustainable manner, especially in the application of marine governance systems in Indonesia to support policy arrangements
