LAND MANAGEMENT SCENARIOS FOR CEYLON CITRONELLA, COFFEE AND PALM SUGAR BASED ON METEOROLOGY AND ECONOMY

Gununghalu Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency is one of the area that produce ceylon citronella, coffee and palm sugar commodities and has precipitation around 2500-3000 mm / year. Although it has a large area, Gununghalu also has a land structure with a slope below 40% covering an area of 2.584 Ha w...

Although it has a large area, Gununghalu also has a land structure with a slope below 40% covering an area of 2.584 Ha which has not been utilized optimally. So it is very important to do a land scenario by calculating meteorological parameters and economic benefits so that the three plants can grow and produce to the maximum potential. The work of this research starts from the processing of precipitation and surface temperature data to produce a climate suitability table. Then the topography data and soil type data are processed to produce a land suitability table. Then the two tables are processed using scoring method so that it will produce a land and climate suitability map. In addition, the Landsat 8 satellite image data is used for the process of calculating plant productivity. These factors were eventually used to create a land management scenarios. Gununghalu subdistrict has a B climate type based on Schmidt-Fergusson climate. While for the precipitation is controlled by climate variability including monsoon, MJO, ENSO, and tropical cyclone. In addition, Gununghalu Subdistrict itself has an S1 land suitability and climate class covering an area of 2.942 Ha and S2 covering an area of 8.700 Ha for coffee plants, ceylon citronella and palm sugar. From the four economic land management scenarios that has been carried out, coffee has an economic value of Rp433.957.500/ha/year, then the palm plantations has an economic value of Rp100.000.000/ha/year and the last ceylon citronella has an economic value of Rp.10.000.000/ha/year . text
