Description
Summary:Seaturtles are included in the list of endangered species. In Indonesia, the maritime country which is home to 6 types of turtle, the number of turtle population decreases drastically by years. The biggest threat to turtles is human behavior. Turtles are hunted and traded illegally. Beside that, the development in coastal areas also makes turtles lose their habitat. Garbage in the sea is also threatening. Therefore, a concrete solution is urgently required. This Final Project is intended to introduce the importance of turtle preservation to the society especially children, in the form of an Augmented Reality book. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology which combines virtual objects into the real environment, then subsequently it directs the objects onto surface in real time. AR is adopted because it suits the interest of target audiences. AR makes the content of books delivered dynamically and not boring. The AR story book in this project tells about the life of a threatened turtle. By means of friendly and fun approach, the narrative is cheerful and adventurous. It is supported by bright color and cheerful characters. It is also suited to the age of target audiences, 7-12 years, which is the joy and intimate friendship age.
