But in 1965, the choreography and costumes of tari Merak were revised by Irawati Durban Ardjo who changed some movements to become more graceful and to better illustrate the beauty and charm of peacocks. The existence of tari Merak has been greatly displaced, the globalization has made people not 'see' this beautiful peacock feather motif. Typography has functional and aesthetic values to convey verbal messages and visual impressions can be an alternative to design needs. Experimental typography is exploration starting from the visual form in creating letters and a shock effect so it remembered longer by the audience. In this final project, the design of experimental typography based on tari Merak costume motifs in the form of an alphabet A - Z display typography is packaged in an experimental typography book entitled 'Semarak Aksara'. Looking at the processing of typography used in design solutions, this reminds us that many influences have driven innovation in the field of typography. In the end, this final assignment as a new expression to answer the present design needs and at the same time link it with the richness and glory of the tradition as well as Indonesian culture as a source of inspiration. text |
