Description
Summary:The rapid development of the air transportation market has made airline companies continuously strive to improve service quality and operational cost efficiency in order to increase competitiveness. Ground handling, all services needed by airline flights include passengers and aircraft, are operational services that are very important for airlines and require very large operational costs. The optimization of ground handling can be done by optimizing the design of staff schedules so that services are carried out more effectively and efficiently. This work schedule design optimization problem can be modeled as an optimization problem Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows by considering ground handling task as passengers located in an area and companies are asked to send their workers as vehicles to pick up passengers. The objective of the problem is to minimize the operational costs of the vehicles needed to pick up all existing passengers. Later heuristic Genetic Algorithm is proposed to solve the model.
