Description
Summary:Machine tools are machines used for various production processes in making products that meet the geometric specifications requested. Machine tools are not only used in the manufacturing industry but are also used for educational and workshop purposes. These machines are produced with designs that are made according to the intended use of the machine itself because each machine is designed at a certain level of precision and dimensions. If the volume of workpiece or dimensions of a machine will be changed, then a new design is needed that must be designed with a certain precision. This process is of course less efficient because it requires time to redesign a machine especially with the desired level of rigidity. The concept applied to the process of machine tool design is the parametric design concept. This concept is used to produce machine tool designs with different dimensions simply by changing a few variables. This parametric design can shorten the time needed to redesign a machine. In this Final Project, a parametric design will be built for spindle head, column and base components which are the main component in vertical CNC milling machines that have not been built parametrically and the concepts that have been built such as kriging interpolation, the accuracy of the kriging interpolation, and the parametric design of the table and saddle are still used in this Final Project. In this Final Project, it succeeded in making a parametric model of CNC vertical milling machines in general and the relationship of the parameters of each of the main components of a vertical CNC milling machine with the values of spindle head, column and base stiffness respectively 49,124 N/?m, 1110,385 N/?m, and 6776,697 N/?m.
