Description
Summary:Pulsejet is the simplest jet engine. Pulsejet isn’t widely known because of its limited application. This thesis is a continuation from previous thesis work by Husni firmansyah titled ”Design and Analysis of 10 lbs Pulsejet”. The previous work results conceptual design, initial sizing and Computational Fluid Dynamic simulation. The CFD simulation used CFX Ansys a software. This thesis deals with detail design, manufactur process and testing. Design proceses consist of 3 steps : conceptual design, preliminary design and detail design. During detail design process the author used CATIA V5 software. Detail proceses started from reconstruction of previous geometry and then detail drawing of all parts to produce detail technical drawing. Many aspects is considered during detail design such as method of assembly and manufacur proceses. Design process was continued by production process or manufactur process. Manufacture proses was done by using lathed machine and welding technique. Simple manufacture process made this engine easy to build with low production cost. The goal of this thesis is to ensure that the designed pulsejet can be tested. It is hoped the pulsejet can work well as shown by its CFD simulation. The testing result shows that the pulsejet is unable to operate without blower. The Pulsejet can’t suck enough air to the combustion chamber. The testing result then will be used as input for the next work.
