Art is in a rapid increase of development in Indonesia, especially its contemporary art. On the contrary, what lacks in this good news is one of the most important aspects of art, its infrastructure. Thus, the Museum of Contemporary Art in BSD City’s idea was constructed. Indonesia has a very strong art scheme and the purpose of this museum is so that the relations between artists and wider issues that are happening in the community can be channeled and connected. This museum focuses on art in Indonesia of course, but it’s always open for international interests. The project is located in BSD City as branding and pull-factor for the location which is a new city that has the ambition to strive as a World Class City quality. The client, Mr. Haryanto Adikoesoemo is an art collector whose vision has been realized into Museum MACAN, the first contemporary art museum in Jakarta. In this Museum of Contemporary Art, museum visitors can appreciate works of art, connect, and as well as give more attention to Indonesian art at the international level.
