THE HEAL-DWELLING: A BLISSFUL EMBRACE OF TECH-NATURE RUMAH SEMBUH DI METLAND CYBER CITY, KOTA TANGERANG

In some languages, hospital is translated into a word with literal meaning “sick house”, for example ziekenhuis (Dutch), krankenhaus (Germany), and Rumah Sakit (Indonesia). These terms are very controversial, especially in Indonesia, where attempts to change it into a more “healing” term had been rejected. Derived from the term ziekenhuis, the paradigm surrounding Rumah Sakit does not promote health, rather giving a grievous and desperate aura. Recently, another concept is being popularized, such as friendly environment and good services. But, this cannot be emphasized without design. Therefore, with applying a theme towards Heal House (rather that sick house), The Heal-Dwelling: A Blissful Embrace of Tech-nature will be a breakthrough in hospital design. Located at a newly developed CBD (Central Business District) area, Metland Cyber City in Tangerang City, this 400-bed hospital with 27.500 m2 building area will be an integrated design between technology and nature, whilst prioritizing embracement and recovery spirit. This is enhanced by design concept blissful, giving comfort and happiness through ambience and activity choices provided by architecture. By using architectural and psychological science such behavioral architecture, environmental psychology, and psychoneuroimmunology, the concept of “The Heal-Dwelling at Metland Cyber City” will be using multidisciplinary design, realizing Heal House with total healing environment in the middle of metropolitan city’s hustle bustle. This building will have 3 main concepts: a blissful embrace for the patients (playful: leisure and recreation), supported by modern design close with nature (modern-natural experience), and zoning for all layer of users (exclusive-inclusiveness).
