STUDY CENTER AS MEDIUM OF MAJAPAHIT HISTORICAL EDUCATION IN MOJOKERTO

In Indonesia, historical subject education has its own problem. According to Indonesia education participants, ranging from elementary school to high school, historical subject has some bad remarks about it. Historical subject learning means boring and repetitive learning methods, according to the students as participants. Learning history doesn’t always mean that you must memorize all of the important names and numbers, but to understand how and why such events had happened back then so that we can learn about it for future use. Among the history subject materials, Indonesian Classic Era study about Majapahit Kingdom pointed out as one of the hardest materials in history, even though Majapahit influenced the formation of early Indonesia as a nation until now. Once said as a capital of the powerful kingdom, Trowulan area (Mojokerto, East Java) have a lot of potential to be developed as a new way of learning about Majapahit Kingdom for elementary school students and uppers. Aside from historical aspect, Trowulan also have much human resources in craftery sector. With the existence of proper study center with centralized all the Majapahit Kingdom related programs, local citizens or visitors from any level and needs can exchange knowledge within one location breach. This study center wanting to give the needed information about potential and Trowulan citizens’ economic development activities as one of the inheritors of Majapahit Kingdom old relics.
