Adityo Murdiarto has been done design and retrofit based thermoelectric
exogenous insulin storage. The exogenous insulin storages was designed to store 12
@ 10 ml vial. The vials were placed inside aluminium shells and salt water was used
as media in order to cool the shells. Temperature required to store insulin ranged
between 2-8 oC. This exogenous insulin storages was designed to be able to maintain
temperatures within the range and integrated with electricity system inside.
The exogenous insulin storage box then made as a step to realize the designed.
In the manufacturing process, there are some modifications made because of
problems encountered during the process as well as the availability of goods on the
market.
Tests were conducted on the exogenous insulin storages to find out wether the
temperature can be achieved. There are two types of testing, ie, cooler fluid
temperatur and milk as representated of exogenous insulin using. Milk is used instead
of insulin because it has a value that can represent the heat capacity of insulin. Milk
temperature in the vial can reach 8°C in 190 minutes. From the results it was
concluded that the design and manufacture can be used to store exogenous insulin.
The result of this final project are expected to provide an overview of the
process of making and testing of thermoelectric cooling box used to store exogenous
insulin. |
