When the people who need water destilation has lived in far away from the seapipeline system must be made to transport the water from the sea, to the distination area. To operate the pipeline system allong time without a break, pipeline system need a high realiablity. Water hammer analysis must be apply to get a high realiability of the pipeline. In this final project, diameter and thickness of the pipeline will be analyzed to find the optimum condition. This pipeline pass 64,7 km on the land.and flow rate 200 liter/second discharge water to fulfill the city`s need. Water hammer appear when a transient condition accure. The example of transient conditions are when the pump start or stop suddenly and a rapid closure valve. Steps must be taken are calculating pipe diameter, calculating pipe thickness, calculating power needed for the pump and choosing pipe valve. Pipe diameter depends to the fluid velocity. Maximum pressure inside pipeline and head pump are calculated by Pipeflow Expert 2010 software. Pipe thickness calculation is based on ASME B31.4 code Pipeline Transportation for hydrocarbon Liquid and Other Liquid. The most economic design will be choosent. And the last step is find the solution for the watemahher phenomenon. The optimum condition reached when the steel line pipe hasNPS 20 pipe and Sch 20.. This pipeline has two pumps with total power 557,348 kW. Pipeline`s production cost is Rp 115,3182 billion for buy the line pipe and valve.
