Description
Summary:The increasing use of IoT devices in daily life has increased the need for data distributed security in IoT devices. Threats such as eavesdropping, data manipulation and attack on data distribution networks can threaten the security and privacy of data owners. Another threat is a security factor that is still not a major concern for IoT devices due to lack of resources for IoT devices, making it difficult to processing complex security syntax. In this study, an IoT data distribution system was built with utilizes blockchain technology that can guarantee integrity an confidentiality of messages, and able to ensure availability of distributed data due to decentralized blockchain technology for increase the availability of data stored in smart contracts that mediate as storage media and also those who authenticate and verified to access the data. With limited resources on IoT devices, each low resources IoT devices can delegate the data to trusted IoT device to distributed data as a gateway with similar publish-subscribe pattern in MQTT. The use of a gateway as intermediary that will process the publish data to smart contract and other subscribed gateway able to retrieve data from smart contract. Based on the result of testing on the IoT data distribution system using blockchain technology it can be concluded the proposed system can increase data availability and improve the authentication of each connected gateway. However, it takes around ten to twenty seconds to process on data writing transaction through smart contract. It was caused by the process of validating and distributing data that takes a long time for a data distribution process.
