Summary: | Nawacita is one of Ir. H. Joko Widodo’s main plan or program to satisfy raw water demand in Indonesia as a President. This plan take form in constructing many dams and water storage in all over Indonesia. Sindangheula DAM which located in Serang District is one of dam that included in Nawacita program. Sindangheula DAM was planed to provide raw water demand for Serang city with 655.000 population and irrigation demand for 768 ha rice fields.
Sindangheula DAM will be constructed in Serang Sub-District or more specifically on Cibanten river. This river is a Cidanau river’s tributary. This location has appropriate topography to build a dam. Sindangheula DAM has 75,8 km2 wide watershed. Based on the analisys of demand and water potention at this location, Sindangheula dam is planned to accommodate 10 million cubic metre total storage and 5,2 million cubic metre for live storage within. Consequently the normal water elevation will be at +115 m.
Spillway is a structure to release excess water from Sindangheula dam’s storage when the rainy season came or the storage was full to prevent dam to collapse. This is very crucial because the failure of this dam could raise a flash flood in Serang city which located at the downstream. Spillway type used is ogee overflow type. The spillway is designed for pmf discharge considering the danger caused if the dam collapsed.
Hersfield analysis is used to determine the PMP. Based on that analysis PMP is 347,3 mm and it will generate 1392 m3/s discharge.
This report contains spillway design step such as hydraulic and structure design for crest, chute canal, and energy dissipator. Based on those analysis, Sindangheula dam need 73 m spillway with 4 m head design. Transitional channel needed is 91 m long with 73 m wide at the upstream and 33 m wide at the downstream. Chute channel will be 182 long with 33 wide at the upstream and the downstream. The trumpet channel will be 33 m wide at the upstream and 35 m wide at the downstream. Energy dissipator type used is U.S.B.R type II with the length of 30 m, 7 m water depth, and 35 m wide. |
