Summary: | Indonesia in 2017 through the slogan “Wonderful Indonesia” were able to
attract international Tourists visit as many as 14 million Tourists, and also
moving 277 million trips domestic Tourists and produce national funds of 200
trillion rupiah which made tourism as the second largest sector of the national
foreign exchange earner. The largest total tourist arrivals to Indonesia by the
entrance in 2017, obtained from international Tourists visit to Bali, through
Ngurah Rai International Airport as much as 5,374,756 Tourists. The most
visited destination in Bali is to Kuta Beach with the average number of
tourists visited around 17,000 per day.
This study aims to measure, calculate and identify the status of tourism
carrying capacity in Kuta Beach based on four indicators: physical capacity,
environmental capacity, economic capacity and perceptual capacity and so
that destination able to optimized the tourists’ needs. The method used is
combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis with the data collection
method based on the results of a literature review, interviews, direct
observation and questionnaires. Questionnaires were distributed to 30
international tourists, 50 Domestic tourists and 50 Local Communities using
convinience sampling method.
The results of the calculation, Kuta Beach’s tourism carrying capacity status
based on physical capacity showed the number of tourists visit to Kuta Beach
per day has exceeded with the total exceeded number of 11.010 tourists per
day. While other indicators with the assessment of the percentage of 0% -
19%, which means of very low yield, 20% - 49% of the classification of low
yields, 50% - 70% of the high classification, and> 70% is the highest
classification assessment showed that indicators that have the highest value is
the economic capacity by 75%. While environmental capacity indicators
showed the results under ideal capacity 0%, and perceptual capacity as much
as 16%. |
