Summary:Development design of airside facility Adi Soemarmo Solo International Airport needed as a solution for the increasing of passenger movement in the future. Ministry of Transportation, ICAO, and FAA has created an airport design criterion as references for designer and uniformity of airport design for flight operations. Design starts with collecting the data that needed as for development, such as history data of airplane and passenger movement, characteristic of airplanes, current situation of airside, and airport environments. According to the data, designed for the development of airside facilities being done to geometric, pavements, and markings. In addition, the evaluation of passenger terminal’s vehicle parking also being carried out. Development design of geometric using critical aircraft Boeing 777-300 ER. Runway is extended from 2.600 meters to 4.000 meters, followed by parallel taxiway and several new exit taxiways to adjust the extended length of the runway. Apron also being developed, adjusted to the movement of passengers and airplanes at rush hour in the future. The result of pavements design is assisted by FAARFIELD software. For the thickness of the overlay, concrete layer is needed 25 centimeters for the rigid pavements and asphalt layer is needed 6 centimeters for the flexible pavements. Whereas, the thick of the new rigid pavement need is 50 centimeters thick of slab with total thickness 95 centimeters. For the new flexible pavement, needs 11 centimeres thick of asphalt layer with total thickness 96 centimeters. Design of markings adjusted to geometric of the airside. Vehicle parking area at the passenger terminal also developed because of the change of rush hour, that will be adjusted to vehicle proportions.
