Summary: | The increasing number of people and the needs of residences in Bandung led to the
development of vertical housing such as apartments to keep growing. Middle class apartments are
already developed in Bandung and mostly being an option for young workers and college students. In
Summarecon Gedebage as a Bandung Teknopolis development area, apartments are provided to
complement some community activities in the area. With an area of about 1.9 hectare, this apartment
provides comfortable residential environment for residents and also integrated with the surrounding
context.
The outlined contexts in this project are the characteristic of the middle class people and the land
characteristics of Gedebage with high flood potential. By conducting a survey and small research on
the user there are some problems found in the use of apartments such as social issues and productivity.
Other issues are also derived from the site context such as ecological issues and building transparency
to the neighbourhood. These issues are elaborated together with the value that the initiator wants
and developed to the design concept of "Creative Communal Living".
Located in Bandung's second city center area, this mid-class apartment offers a comfortable and
well-equipped residential area with the most wanted support facilities for the residents. The quality of
spaces with more fresh and closer to nature are presented in every facility so it can be an added value
of this apartment. Open spaces such as the retail plaza, playground, and public parks area also
integrated with the environment, thus reducing the gated community. |
