Summary:This research discuss the power converter topology that will be used for switched reluctance motor (SRM) with type 12 slots and 8 poles 5 kW 3000 rpm which will be used in commercial vehicles for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) needs. Comparison of the use of R-dump, C-dump, and asymmetric power converters will be seen from the characteristics of the current, torque, speed, and efficiency produced by each converter. Components that will be used in the design of the power converter will also be selected after calculating the rating of each component and simulation on MATLAB software to see the characteristics of each component in the power converter topology.
