Ninja Xpress is an affiliate of Ninja Van. Ninja Xpress had a problem in increase backlog level. Backlog condition is when customers have sent but the company not shipped. As in December 2018, Cinangka, Semper, Tangerang, Utan Kayu, and Kebon Jeruk station had backlog level almost from two up to seven times higher than another months. By using Current reality tree it was found that problem that caused backlog is inefficiency of the number of couriers employed with the amount of demand needed by the market. So that causes late delivery. After finding the root of the problem, the authors provide several methods to solve the problem. First the author use the Linear Programming method to get the optimum results from the number of couriers. Ninja Xpress has two types of employees, full-time employees and freelance employees. Second, demand forecasting using Weighted Moving Average (WMA). Then the results of demand forecasting are input again into linear functions to get the ideal number of couriers for the next 12 months. The results in this study show that the company has not reached optimum number of couriers. They had lost an opportunity cost or even could save more. Therefore, this study can help company more efficient than before, as well as to implement the new numbers of couriers. text |
