THE ANALYSIS OF CONVECTIVE CLOUD REGENERATION PATTERN IN THE MOUNTAINOUS AREA AND THE COASTAL AREA

Convective clouds in the Indonesian Maritime Continent (BMI) region have a pattern of regeneration. This regeneration pattern results in a convective rain repetition in one day. The pattern of convective cloud regeneration can be detected by processing satellite image data which is then confirmed by...

This regeneration pattern results in a convective rain repetition in one day. The pattern of convective cloud regeneration can be detected by processing satellite image data which is then confirmed by surface rainfall data. The variety of topographic forms in BMI makes this convective cloud regeneration pattern have different characteristics both the pattern and the mechanism of occurrence. In this study, take the example of the topographic form of the lowlands bordering the sea, namely the Coastal of Jakarta and the highlands in the form of basins, mountains and valleys, namely the Bandung Basin. Generally, in both areas have only two main patterns. Those patterns are the single cell pattern and the multi cell pattern. The division of this pattern is based on precursor convective cell initiation, convective cell propagation, and the new regenerative cell character. text
