| Summary: | Zalacca plants or Salacca Zalacca is a shrub plants with thorny branches and pinnate leaves. Nowadays, the only advantage taken from Zalacca is the fruit. The fruit itself is not worth the cost of the land maintenance. Beside that, the midribs should be cut twice a year before harvesting the fruit. After that, the midribs are just wasted without any other significant use, which means they do not have any economic impact. By the result of prior exploration, zalacca's midrib has some material characteristics, such as light-weight, fragile, and easy to be shaped. Hence, zalacca's midrib has potential usage as a substitute to certain products' raw material. I Based on the research done, the material has charactherisics that are light and fragile. There has to be a certain way to process it, especially for the splitting, in order to get a good product and optimal process. Here, the case study is to use the material to build an aircraft model which type is chuck glider because it is light and easy to be shaped.t can optimize the use of zalacca and add more value to the material itself. |
