Summary: | Lake Toba is one of the regions being developed by the government into prominent tourist
destinations. Lake Toba itself hasn’t have its own gate for people visiting the area. This airport is
designed to served the transportation sector to and from Lake Toba. The airport will be developing the
runway from 750 meters to 2,400 meters long.
Since the past few years, the passenger terminal was officialy closed. The movement of passengers
at Sibisa becomes 0 passengers per year. Therefore, the presence of the new Sibisa International
Airport is targeted to accommodate 1,2 million passengers per year to reach the target of the visit of
foreign to 20 million people.
The terminal will accommodate domestic and international passenger movements. It is for foreign
tourists to reach this destination without having to transit for a long time. The terminal will have a total
area of around 11,000 m2, which consists of a 3-storey-building. Terminal will be designed with
typology of linear and one-and-half-level with joint curb for passengers departing and passenger
arrivals on the ground floor. This terminal will carry the concept which is tailored to the design issues
and trends from the airport terminal today, such as locality and green airport. |
