Description
Summary:Traditional marketplaces in Bogor are now undergoing revitalization plans under the government project to increase economical values of said marketplaces. Pasar Kebon Kembang’s selling product is dominated by textile production and footwear. A marketplace situated in the center of the city, its history dates back to 1810s when goods distribution is supported by railway construction, connecting Buitenzorg to Batavia. Design concept emphasizes on three points: connectivity, social interaction and locality. Connectivity of the marketplace provides physically and functionally integrated buildings within the area and supports transit-oriented further development. Social interaction is a response toward the potential of increasing level of activity. In addition to that, accounting the presence of a historical landmark near the marketplace, Stasiun Bogor, the concept of locality arises.
