Summary:Peatland fire is a serious problem since it’s uncontrollable and making smoke that’s harmful to health. While the fire becomes more massive, the Government arrange an organization called “Badan Restorasi Gambut” to solve the land fire problem with restoration approach. One of the solutions is to build canal blockings to raise groundwater table in the nearby field until 0,4 meter below land surface and accommodate flood, to achieve the goal computations for the distance between canal blockings, spillway height and broad are done. Computation of groundwater table height and distance between canal blockings are using a one-dimension model that runs in Microsoft Excel. Model results show that distance between canal blockings are 600 meters for canal 1 and 450 meters for canal 2. The solution success rate is 100% while functioning in early January and 79% while functioning in early October. 10 canal blocking will be built in canal 1 with a 0,7-meter height of spillway and the construction starts at range of early October until late December. In the future, the writer hopes for research in peatlands, specifically in Indonesia, are more to be done since references about Indonesia’s peatlands are very limited.
