Description
Summary:Lokacipta, Place of The Everlasting Song is a national-scale music hub building located in Solo. This project is an effort to create a music center that can contribute to the development of the great potential of the Indonesian music industry. The proponent of this project is the Ministry of Education and Culture, with management and funding assistance from the Agency for the Creative Economy and Cultural Heritage Djarum Foundation. This project is uniquely located in the cultural preserve area Lokananta, the first government-owned music label company in Indonesia that produces many great musicians and their works. There are issues that come from the site, the function and the context. The many functions cause issues related to keamanan and circulation so it has to be organized properly. The project has a music theme so that has to be reflected in the spaces inside and outside the building. There's also the main issue of integrating every aspects of the new buildings with the heritage buildings. The concept "everlasting song" is used to answer those issues. With a harmonious approach, the design of the new building will use extensions of invisible lines and proporsions from the old building. The application of the concepts and the supporting concepts to the design is reflected in the programming, massing, siteplanning, organization of space to the design of the building's facade, interior colors and materials.
