The world is in race to build green power plant. One of the massively constructed renewable energy power plant is wind power plant (WPP). Indonesia started building WPP as a part of the 23% renewable energy target in 2025. However, there is one problem in this plant, which is intermittency. This leads to unstable power delivered by WPP. This fluctuation could make the frequency instabel. If the power generated exceeds power load demand, the frequecy will rise. Vice versa, if the power load deman exceeds power generated, the frequency will decrease from the nominal value. The presence of conventional generator has some disadvantages, such as low ramp rate and high fuel price. Therefore, the solution goes to battery as a frequency regulation in power system. The objectives of this final projecy is to compare two battery control strategies in Sulawesi system with the intermittent source of Sidrap WPP. The frequency is kept in the range of 50±0,2 Hz. Both battery control strategies successfully keep the frequency in permitted range. Lastly, the battery degradation is also calculated. With different control strategies, the first controler has longer battery age than the second. text |
